BCN – Rand-Whitney Cuts Ribbon On Expansion In Worcester, MA

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, more than 150 Rand-Whitney leadership, dignitaries, guests and employees celebrated the opening of a 45,000-square-foot expansion of the company’s headquarters in Worcester, Massachusetts, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Rand-Whitney president Nick Smith was joined by Kraft Group leadership; Robert Kraft, the founder, chairman and CEO; and president Jonathan Kraft, as well as PROCON (construction firm) chairman and CEO Mark Stebbins. Local and state officials also attended the event included Massachusetts Lt. Governor Karyn Polito, Worcester City Manager Edward M. Augustus, and City Councilor George Russell.

BCN – USC Buys Interest In C&P In Mexico

U.S. Corrugated, Inc. (USC) announced that it has acquired a majority interest in Corrugated and Packaging LLC (C&P) in Tijuana, Baja California, and Mexico.

C&P operates a full-service corrugated sheet plant and a foam fabrication and extrusion operation in Tijuana, a distribution center in Mexicali, and a foam facility in Vista, California. The equity investment was made in collaboration with Michael Feterik, a 40-year industry veteran and the former principal shareholder and CEO of Orange County Container Group, who will serve as the CEO of C&P.

RM – NWRA Urges China To Reconsider Law Restricting Scrap Imports

The National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA) filed comments with China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) regarding its draft law on the prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste. Article 29 of the draft law would restrict the importation of solid waste.
