The independent corrugated industry, and in particular AICC, is built on a family framework. The family’s patriarch built the business, and the family runs the business. But most recently, some family-owned businesses are turning to non-family members to handle day-to-day operations.
At AICC’s recent Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, early-risers to the day’s program had the opportunity to engage with representatives from three companies that to varying degrees have gone this route. Judging from the reaction of participants at this lively Eye-Opener, titled “Management Succession: Thinking Outside the Family,” the session was indeed “eye-opening.”
