Ted Vilardi, Jr., began his career in the publishing business after serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In the early 1970s, he worked for Magazines for Industry, rising through the company to become Vice President and Publisher of Paperboard Packaging magazine and its weekly publication, Official Board Markets.
In 1984, Vilardi and a business partner founded N.V. Business Publications and started Board Converting News (The White Sheet) to serve the corrugated and folding carton industries. The company later added publications in the recycling and flexographic industries, and, in the late 1980s, formed a partnership with UK based Brunton Publications that extended the range of both companies globally.
After 18 years as the owner of N.V. Publications, Ted Vilardi handed over the reigns of the Avon-By-The-Sea based company to his son Tom, who continued to grow Board Converting News, Recycling Markets and Flexo Market News, as well as Corrugated Today, a joint venture with Brunton Publications.
