Gains First U.S. Patent
Genetic Transfer Technology (GTT), Apex Group of
Companies’ successor to traditional closed-cell anilox
printing, has been granted its first U.S. Patent.
The printing technology was first introduced to the
flexographic industry when it launched in Europe in
2008.
The GTT family now includes GTTCORR (for
the corrugated industry), GTTFLEX (for flexible pack-
aging), GTTLABEL, GTTCOAT and GTTOFFSET, which
debuted at DRUPA 2012.
The U.S. Patent (US-2012-0298002) came just in
time for Info*Flex 2013, where Apex North America
showcased its technologies to an audience of brand
leaders and key decision makers.

The National Association for Printing Leadership

NAPL) Mergers & Acquisitions Team is conducting an
acquisition outreach initiative on behalf of a promi-
nent global label supplier in the Midwest Region of
the United States.The M&A Team has been retained to
assist in a strategic growth plan for its client, one of
the top label suppliers to some of the largest brands in
the beverage, food, and consumer products market.
NAPL M&A specialists are now in the process of iden-
tifying suitable candidates for acquisition by the compa-
ny. Candidates should be focused on the pressure
sensitive label market, ideally with revenues in the $10
million-$40 million range.The client is reportedly well-
capitalized and today the majority of the client’s prod-
ucts are produced utilizing offset and gravure print
processes.The client will be able to bring $6 million to
$10 million in flexo business that is currently being out-
sourced to the acquired company. The client seeks a
business whose operational management team will con-
tinue in that capacity after the acquisition.

Exhibit Space
The upcoming PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL 2013
(
PPI), 4th International Packaging and Printing Exhi-
bition for Asia, will provide 20 percent more exhibit
space. The organizers Messe Düsseldorf Asia (MDA),
the Thai Packaging Association and the Thai Printing
Association expect some 250 companies to show-
case their latest technology and pioneering innova-
tions for the printing and packaging sector to about
20,000
visitors. The event will take place at the
Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre
(
BITEC) fromAugust 28-31.
