Label Summit Indonesia 2013
Reveals Conference Program
The conference program has been revealed as regis-
tration opens for the inaugural Label Summit Indone-
sia, which is being held at the Westin Resort Nusa
Dua in Bali May 29-30. Focusing on the label and
package printing industry, the Summit will comprise
a mix of technical presentations, real life business
case studies and the latest industry insight and busi-
ness intelligence into market trends, conditions and
challenges.
The Summit commences with a roundup of market
trends with presentations by Multi-Color Corpora-
tion’s Brenton Barrett who will look at global trends
and Ariana Susanti of the Indonesian Packaging Fed-
eration who will explore the latest developments in
South East Asia. In a printer panel discussion, convert-
ers from Indonesia,Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and
the Philippines will look at printing as part of the
economy and future growth opportunities.
The afternoon’s sessions will address the latest
available technologies, capabilities and applica-
tions. Topics include creating value with 3D tech-
nologies and a guide to flexo technology, materials
and performance.
The second day’s contents have been developed to
help identify new oppor tunities for business
growth. Sri Yulianti, research and development pack-
aging manager – home personal care from Unilever
will consider how to implement a sustainable strate-
gy for environmentally friendly packaging practices.
Supa Stik Label’s Pete Holywell will share secrets on
how to transform a business using online marketing
and social media platforms, while other subjects in-
clude effective anti-counterfeiting solutions for
brand protection.
The Summit is complemented by a table-top exhibi-
tion with exhibitors including Esko, Flint Group, Gal-
lus, Mark Andy, Nilpeter, Omet, RotoMetrics and Stork
Prints.
TAPPI Standards
Receive ANSI Approval
Three TAPPI Standards have been approved by the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as
American National Standards.
The Standards approved are:
T 271 om-12 Fiber length of pulp and paper by
automated optical analyzer using polarized light.
T 512 sp-12 Creasing of flexible packaging materi-
al paper specimens for testing.
T 834 om-12 Determination of containerboard roll
hardness.
