Flexo Expansion:
Vertis Prepress Assets

ertis Holdings, Inc. and SGS International, Inc. have
reached an agreement through which SGS will further
augment its complete, design-to-print packaging solutions with
the purchase of additional prepress packaging equipment, data
files and certain related assets fromVertis.
SGS produces more than 3 million square feet of flexo plates
annually, as well as 80,000 gravure cylinders annually.
SGS offers a multitude of options for the corrugated, wide-
web, and narrow-web f lexographic presses. These include
sheet polymer, liquid polymer, digital photo polymer and
sleeves as well as advanced imaging and HD screening tech-
nologies from Esko, DuPont, and Kodak.
SGS has 14 flexographic plate centers, located in Atlanta,
Georgia; Appleton, Wisconsin; Charlotte, North Carolina;
Elgin, Illinois; Florence, Kentucky; Minneapolis, Minnesota;
Marietta, Georgia; McBee, South Carolina; Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania; Richmond, Virginia; St. Louis, Mis-
souri; West Monroe, Louisiana; Toronto,
Canada; and Hull, England.
According to Vertis, proceeds
from the sale of these
assets will allow the
company to strengthen
its overall liquidity po-
sition and further in-
vest in its core Direct
Marketing, Advertising
Inserts and Large For-
mat businesses.

the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago,
