product launches including presses, inks and sub-
strates, the exhibition and conference program occu-
pied 185,000 square feet, up 8.5 percent on the
previous edition’s size. It also boasted 400 local and
international exhibitors including 94 companies that
were participating for the first time. By the time the
exhibition closed, the show organizers reported that
81.44
percent of stand space for the 2014 edition
had already been booked.
As well as being a platform for demonstrating the
latest working machinery, Labelexpo Americas also
provided visitors with a conference program attend-
ed by more than 1,000 delegates. Presentations on a
broad variety of topics including global trends, nano-
graphic printing, digital business models, the environ-
ment, security solutions for brand protection and the
future of flexo printing were delivered.
Better environmental awareness was also high on the
agenda at Labelexpo Americas 2012 with the introduc-
tion of new feature area Ecovillage and in a printing in-
dustry first, the waste matrix from press demonstrations
and feature areas was collected for recycling.With the
help of Greenwood Fuels and Channeled Resources,
42,200
lbs. of waste matrix was collected and compact-
ed ready to be turned into fuel pellets.

M Realigns Organization
In Five Business Groups
3
M has realigned its major business groups. The
new structure will be comprised of five business
groups: Consumer (2011 sales of $4.2 billion), Indus-
trial ($9.6 billion), Health Care ($5.0 billion) and two
newly formed business groups: Safety & Graphics
(
$5.5 billion), and Electronics & Energy ($5.7 bil-
lion). Previously, the company operated six major
business segments.
The company also announced new leadership roles
for a number of its senior leaders.
Electronics & Energy is led by Executive Vice Presi-
dent Mike Kelly.
Safety & Graphics is led by Executive Vice President
Julie Bushman.
Industrial, led by Executive Vice President Brad
Sauer, remains unchanged, with the exception of Re-
newable Energy moving to Electronics & Energy.
Sauer formerly led 3M’s Health Care business.
Health Care, led by Executive Vice President
Joaquin Delgado, remains unchanged.
Consumer is also unchanged and will continue to
be led by Executive Vice President Mike Vale.
Chris Holmes is named Senior Vice President, Cor-
porate Supply Chain Operations, succeeding John
Woodworth.
