Printing Industries of America
Art Lindauer, instructor,Venice High School, Los An-
geles, California, is the Academic Recipient of the
Education Award of Excellence. Lindauer has
applied for and received numerous California State
grants to upgrade his print shop. Most recently, he re-
ceived $3 million from the State Proposition ID CTE
Grant—$1.5 million for equipment and $1.5 million
matching funds from the Los Angeles Unified School
District for renovation.
Additionally, Lindauer has started an after-school club
through a 21st Century Learning Grant between Venice
High School and the Venice Boys & Girls Club. He is in
the finishing stages of instituting PrintED, a national ac-
creditation program, based on industry standards, for
graphic communications courses of study at the sec-
ondary and post-secondary levels, administered by the
Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation
GAERF). Once this process is complete, Venice High
will be the only high school in the state of California
to offer this accreditation process for its students.
Regina (Gina) Testa, Vice President, Graphic Com-

the recipient of the 2012 Naomi Berber Memorial
Award.This award honors outstanding women in the
graphic communications industry for their excep-
tional record of accomplishments, unusual contribu-
tion toward the development of the graphic

Testa currently is chair of the marketing committee of
The Print Council and serves on its executive leader-
ship committee. In 2009,Testa was appointed and con-
tinues to serve as a director on the national boards of
the Printing Industries of America and National Print-
ing Equipment Suppliers organizations.
She also serves on the boards of the Print On De-
mand initiative and the Rochester Institute of Tech-
nology Cross Media Center.

Initiatives At Labelexpo’s Ecovillage
In order to showcase its efforts in sustainability, Sun
Chemical was a sponsor of Ecovillage, a small pavil-
ion at Labelexpo Americas 2012, which specifically
highlighted technologies that reduce waste in the
label and narrow web market. Sun Chemical spot-
lighted its 2011 sustainability report, which expands
on its data-driven metrics by showcasing how the
company’s leadership in sustainability is helping cus-
tomers adapt and be more eco-efficient.
