Central Piedmont Completes
$9M Renovation Project
Central Piedmont Community College has complet-
ed a $9 million construction and renovation project
at its Harper Campus.
According to the
Charlotte Business Journal
,
the
12-
month project, led by Rodgers Builders, added
34,422
square feet of new construction, and roughly
21,000
square feet were renovated.
It was funded through proceeds from a 2005 Meck-
lenburg County bond referendum.
Our recent expansion and renovation projects
touched every single program we offer at Harper
Campus,” Jay Potter, dean of the campus, was quoted
as saying. “These are programs that prepare students
for specific career fields and jobs.”
The upgrade has added 11 classrooms, and CPCC
also expanded its graphic arts and flexography pro-
gram by adding a second floor to an existing space.
The project also included a new walk-in bookstore
and expanded parking area. The campus opened in
1999
to serve CPCC’s Applied Technologies Division
and Construction Technologies Division programs.
