With F&K CI Press
Roberts Mart & Co. Ltd., an independent manufac-
turer of flexible packaging in the UK, has invested
£2.5m in new plant machinery to boost production
capacity at its two facilities in Leeds.
The investment includes an F&K 20SIX CI flexo
press at its Aire Valley printing factory, as well as a
laminator for the same location.An extruder for sister
business Romar Packaging has also been purchased.
Roberts Mart supplies specialized, high-perfor-
mance films to a variety of industry sectors, including
food, beverages, pet food, supermarket own brand,
bottled waters and textiles.
According to the company, the addition of the F&K
press will allow to break into new market areas, with
the company set to boost production by 30 million
linear meters a year.The latest increase in capital ex-
penditure takes Roberts Mart’s overall investment to
just more than £15.5 million over the last eight years.

Narrow Web Print Winners
Label converters from around the world participat-
ed in the eighth annual Flint Group Narrow Web
Print Awards competition in September. Entries were
submitted from several countries, including the Unit-
ed States, Italy, China,Argentina and Brazil. Label sub-
missions utilized a wide range of technologies,
including UV flexo, water-based flexo, UV screen,
special effect inks, and coatings. And, new in 2012, a
category was added dedicated to UV flexo low migra-
tion food packaging.
Awards were presented in eight different categories
in September 2012; all print submissions using inks,
coatings and specialty products supplied by Flint
Winners included ACM S.r.l (Italy); Shanghai Ko-
mark Labels & Labelling (China); Smyth Companies
LLC (U.S.A.); Autopack SA (Argentina); Labelcrafters
U.S.A.); Prakolar Rotulos Autoadhesivos (Brazil); and
Consolidated Label Company (U.S.A.).

Opens For Registrations
Registration for Flexographic Technical Associa-
tion’s (FTA) 2013 Forum & INFO*FLEX Exhibition, to
be held April 28-May 1, 2013, in San Diego, California,
is now open.
Bob Mullen, Sun Chemical Corp. and Pepper Stokes,
Robbie Fantastic Flexibles, chair the 2013 confer-
ence, themed “Right Here, Right Now.”
